The Agde-Marseillan region, located on the Mediterranean side of the Herault department, is mainly made up of colluvial deposits made from gravel and sand.

The combination of climatic and soil characteristics highlight this region's high potential which is due to the soil's fertility and the particularly warm climate. Furthermore the nearby Etang de Thau provides beneficial humidity every morning and evening for our white grape varieties allowing them to develop their freshness and flavor.

The Henri de Richemer Wine Cellars' vineyard stretches over approximately 1,500 hectares. This viticultural area is broken down into several plots of different grape varieties. Two-thirds of the grape varieties are white grape varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Viognier … there are also Terret-Bourret and Piquepoul grape varieties which are characteristic of the Herault region.

As for the red grape varieties the Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Syrah are generally vinified into red wine while the Carignan, Grenache and Cinsault are used to make rosé wines.
